Talking helps...

From a neurological point of view, when we discharge through talking, we are in essence, creating new neural pathways.

I am a psychotherapist specializing in individual therapy as well as couples counseling and group therapy. I offer both virtual (Skype/phone/FaceTime) and physical offices. Many poeple prefer the option of virtual meetings as they are able to save the time of coming and going to their appoinments.

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy and Life Coaching offers a person a safe and harboring atmosphere to work on issues of concern. Often those issues may include career, family or love, often they may have to do with something else entirely, that's up to you to address as you deem necessary and I am able to help guide you through this process. Keep in mind that you are not alone and that help is available.  Empirical evidence shows talking helps. It is what Sigmund Freud called "The Talking Cure".

Couples Therapy

Couple Therapy

Couple Therapy is an effective and powerful way to learn about yourself and your partner/spouse and improve your primary relationship. Bringing the two of you into therapy together creates an opportunity for listening, learning and growing with a third party who is impartial and objective. This often brings immediate relief due to the fact that now, you both know that there will be a recurring time to address issues that have come up during the week as well as the ones that built up over time. Being able to see and hear each other and interact in a secure and safe environment offers a strong potential for enhancing and/or transforming your relationship. Eventually you will both begin to feel freer and more at ease with communicating with each other. Previous and current conflicts and frustrations, as well as deeper needs and desires can be more effectively talked about.  New patterns of communicating begin to replace older reactive patterns. These newer patterns are more collaborative and constructive and less destructive than the previous ones.

Group Therapy

Group Therapy

If you can do well in group, you can do well in life! Being in a group, in many ways, is like being in a family; a therapy group is a safe arena to explore and process one’s feelings. Group therapy is one of the best ways to help develop and maintain more satisfying relationships with others be they spouses, co-workers, friends, or family members. Over time, as group members talk about their thoughts and feelings with the other members in the group, patterns of behavior and interaction begin to emerge that echo similar situations in their lives outside group. By each member sharing their own unique perspective, group members  begin to learn more about what gets in the way of having  greater and more satisfying relationships, and  they learn new ways of relating more openly and honestly.
